I’m trying new things everyday (lies!). And the two items that I wanted to try and then also compare against each other was the two cream shadows that came out of a tube.
I received both cream eye shadows from my Ipsy subscription. In my February 2014 Ipsy Bag, there was a eye shadow sent from Tini Beauty called Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow Base +One. The color it came in was Violette. In July, I received the Bare Minerals 5 in 1 Advanced Cream Eyeshadow in Divine Wine.
Now, Tini Beauty is boasting that they are vegan and cruelty free and that they extend the life of the eyeshadow . On their description, it says ” Say goodbye to creasing and fading with Eyetini Eye Cordial Shadow + Base. Our revolutionary formula glides on beguiling creamy color and sets to a transfer-resistant finish that doubles as a wear-extending base under powder shadow. Violette serves up pink-kissed lilac. It cost 18.00

Mac Satin Taupe was applied over the Bare Minerals cream shadow . This photo is a couple hours in.
Bare minerals Boast describes itself as “12-hour long-wearing color . Super-charged primer .Powerful brightening benefits . Smoothes fine lines . Protects with SPF”. The cost is also 18.00.
When I applied the bare mineral eye cream, the doe foot applicator felt spongey, which is not a bad thing. I also noticed that the eye shadow cream went on very opaque and when sheered out was still opaque. It felt the color was more of taupe color instead of a wine color on my skintone. I wore the eye shadow cream under MAC satin taupe for about twelve hours. The shadow cream did not crease or flake. In fact, Mac eye shadows have a tendency to fade but it did not fade with the shadow cream from Bare Minerals. Now would I say brightening I would. I felt like the cream was meh alone but when I place the shadow over top, I felt like It did brighten the eye shadow overtop.
The eyeshadow worn for twelve hours.
Both of these eyeshadow creams are great when you are topping it with a coordinating color. I would not place an eyeshadow on top that was not in the same color family ,it seems as if it would make the overlaying shadow ruddy.
I also like that both of the creams were not heavy but I feel like the Tini beauty eye shadow cream would be the only one I would wear alone for a wash of color.
