Project Tryout: Ipsy Swim Into Beauty Glam bag

Hi Yall,
I am thinking about canceling my glambag. I have two reasons why.The first, I don’t feel its as good as Birchbox. I feel Birchbox does a little bit more high end for the same price and two, I feel like I am not represented in the Ipsy glambag world (BirchBox does use not have models on their website). I feel that the ladies they choose to model their bags may be popular on youtube but do not represent me and I feel like there are a plethora of famous youtubers that can pick that would show diversity. That’s mine opinion. Like always, you can leave your comment below agreeing or disagreeing.
So on to the bag:
Dr Brandt Skincare pores no more vacuum cleaner. The Ipsy website describes Dr. Brandt as:
This gentle exfoliating mask helps loosen and extract blackheads without painful extraction tools while absorbing oil and tightening pores. Dr. Brandt’s exclusive formula combines Salicylic and Glycolic Acid to assist in the release of blackheads while Eijitsu Rose helps tighten pores.
Shea Moisture lip butter lip crayon . Ipsy described this lip crayon as: This vivid statement-making lip color glides on smooth and stays true for all-day drama. This brilliant multi-tasker acts like a liner and lipstick in one. Use to define lips and then fill in with beautiful, all-over color. Blended with moisturizing Shea Butter, this lip crayon softens and hydrates while keeping lips supple and kissable.
Smashbox Cosmetics Photofinish foundation primer. This primer is as: Create a perfect canvas for foundation application with this silky, lightweight blend of vitamins A & E, grape seed extract and green tea. Worn alone or under foundation, this best-selling, oil-free primer helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish.
Bio Republic Sheet Mask trio. Ipsy describes the trio as: Life is full of surprises and our skin is no exception! Each BioRepublic sheet mask offers a targeted 15-minute solution guaranteed to help you navigate even your most treacherous skin dilemmas. Packing over half a bottle of potent serum in every mask and loaded with active botanicals, these express facial treatments deliver the vital hydration and nutrients your skin needs to maintain its natural glow. What’s more, all BioRepublic SkinCare products are 100% cruelty free and use materials that are either biodegradable or recyclable, so your conscience will feel as relieved as your complexion.
Tre’stique Mini Shadow Crayon .Ipsy describes this crayon as: This amazing 12 hour eye shadow has customizable color that you can build from a subtle wash to intense vibrancy. It’s also super blendable with a crease free, smooth finish.
After saying I get more high end items from BirchBox, I received two items that are sold at Sephora. Dr.Brandt and SmashBox Primer. I would also have to say this is a better bag than less month. I also feel like the crayon is something I would tryout. I have tried out the mini eyeshadow crayon and I will say that Ipsy has previewed better eyeshadow pencils from different brands. You know above all things I love a sheet mask.I have a few from Sephora I would like to try. I have even tried an Aloe Mask on my mom from Forever 21 (which she loved). So I am excited to try out these masks from Bio Republic. I believe I tried out the Pomegrante mask from this brand and was on the fence but I love trying things.

I totally agree with you (says the white girl). When the quiz asks which girl you identify with, I shrug. It’s like you can tell that they check different boxes on paper, but in photos there’s zero diversity. And they have no clue what to do with grey eyes (“Here, try this other shade of beige. The Naked palettes are really popular, right?”)

Wow, it seems they have white girl problems too. I wished they would have a comment section directed to them instead of us a forum for just the shoppers to connect. I usually have to rate products low to not get them anymore but then I get something else thats crazy. What are we to do?

I’m telling them I have green eyes this time so I might get something purple. My hair is about to have a teal underlayer this weekend, so I should change that too 🙂
